"I want to teach students how to successfully manage their money by having them open up their own Lemonade Stand business. My students need supplies to teach financial literacy skills to Elementary Students in our surrounding communities. Our school supports three different counties, all in small, poor, rural areas.
Money management is an important skill to have in this tough economy. Seeing a need for young people to have these skills before they make it in the real world, my marketing students have decided to teach elementary students basic money management skills in a fun way: a lemonade stand! 5th graders are responsible for budgeting their money for advertising and supplies needed to run the stand. After a brief lesson led by 11th and 12th graders in my class, students will then be responsible for running the business. 2nd and 3rd graders will then get to buy the lemonade and see who makes the most money! We need supplies for decorating posters and incentives for customers to buy from the stand of their choice. We need markers, posterboard, paint, tape, and glitter. Your contribution will enable students from three different counties gain experience in money management. Please help!
