Adventures in Reading through MATH!!!! WOW!!!!

"Adventures in Reading! Reading can be an exciting time in a child's life. Children like to read books that are fun. The books I am asking for are math journal books and math story books. We spend a great deal of time reading in second grade. Children get bored and tired of the same old story line. With these books they will be able to add adventure in their own lives. The math story books will help them to understand math in everyday life. WOW! how awesome would that be.

My students will enjoy using the math journals in their daily math studies. The math journals will help enhance the math strategies that we learn everyday. The math journals will be sent home for homework and classroom work. The math journals are tied into math because we will be answering problem solving strategies and writing our own. My students will love it. They really enjoy writing their own problems.

The Charlotte's Web reading games will be LOTS of fun when we read the story. I can't imagine how much fun it will be answering questions as we read. The game will help encourage reading and participation.

I teach 2nd grade in a Title I school. Our school is made up of 60% free and reduced lunches. My classroom has 13 students that qualify for free and reduce lunches. Our school is also an Alabama Reading Initiative School. Reading is very important to me for my students. I want them to enjoy reading and feel confident about their reading abilities.
