My students need a digital SLR camera for capturing images in the field, on field trips, and during projects in our AP Environmental Science class.

We are APES! That is, we are the Advanced Placement Environmental Science class. This is an elective AP course with students from grades 10-12. We are a suburban/rural community with nature out our back door to explore and study.

My class goes outside about every week for some sort of activity. One popular destination is a creek behind the school. We have supplies to test water, soil, etc. However, we don't have a camera to take pictures of what we see and do. If we want to take pictures, we can sometimes borrow Yearbook's camera, but it comes with warnings and mandates about its' use. We just this year received laptops for every student. What better way to integrate science and technology than to allow students to take pictures and use them in projects that they produce? This is something that the kids love to do, and I think they should have the opportunity.

I think the students should have access to a high quality camera, such as a digital SLR camera. Being able to take high quality images for use on their laptops for projects would be an amazing tool for the students to use.

Your help will ensure that my students will get the resources they need to use their laptops to their full potential. Taking good pictures is paramount to students sharing their work with others through the media they create.
