My students need 8 copies each of 3 poetry books, including "Rolling in the Aisles" and "My Hippo Has the Hiccups".

I teach fifth grade in a small rural Arkansas town. The community is very small and poor. It is hard at times to get the materials needed to get to my students.

An essential part of reading is vocabulary and being introduced to different genres of reading. Poetry is a wonderful genre that students need to appreciate. Reading is the basis for all education and the real world and will open doors for my students. They need to be able to read for a purpose and fun in order to go far in the world. Poetry is a form of reading and writing that I would LOVE for my students to enjoy.

Poetry books will enable my students to see that poetry is fun and exciting and not boring! The books that I am asking for are humorous school poems that will make kids laugh out loud. Enjoying reading poetry will lead to them writing poetry.

Make a difference and help some small town students open the door to their future with a good book that includes funny poems.
