My students are all struggling readers who do not feel successful in the area of reading. I believe if I can find material that they can understand and enjoy I will be able to ignite a love and joy for reading. Due to funding cuts, I am forced to look for additional help. That is where you come in. I need 25 copies of the book "Stone Fox" to use with my students. In a room of 23 students, the majority of my students are on a third or fourth grade reading level in the sixth grade. I have never had a below level intervention group before, therefore I do not have the resources to teach effectively to my students. The sixth grade textbook is to hard for these students. The students are also seeing my other reading classes reading novels and they are showing an interest in reading a novel. The novels I have are way above their reading abilities. I believe if I can get some novels that they can understand that I can raise their confidence and reading levels tremendously. Your help will make it possible for my students to experience reading in a new way. You will help to create a love for reading in a group of kids that feel like failures in this area. With your help, I know I can make them feel like star readers. My students need 25 copies of the book "Stone Fox".
