Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a 5th grade bilingual self-contained class in a very special spot in Texas. Many of our students do not have access to the Internet or other resources to learn about world events.

Our class is delving into the deeper discussion of world issues and how they affect our very own community, our homes, and in our classroom. As a community of international learners, we are striving hard to gain the tools we need to be lifelong learners and make the world a better place. My class of bright, bilingual 5th graders will benefit greatly from a subscription to Time for Kids. I want these students to be better able to understand the world and their place in it and how by staying in school and working hard, they can develop their talents to help make the world a better place.

A subscription a Time for Kids for each student will allows us to study current events in our classroom and come to understand how world events affect us and how we can work to bring change.

You will make it possible for my students to broaden their understanding of world events and come to understand their place in the world. They will grow to become responsible citizens of this world.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
