Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Our school is primarily made up high need students. I teach fourth grade. The last two years my students have had a rough time. In second grade they had three different teachers. In third grade they moved to a new room every month. This will be their very own class this year and I want to create a positive organized environment for learning to help them in their fourth grade learning experience.

Space in a mobile unit is a huge problem when you put 32 students, 2 learning centers and a teacher's desk in a 21' x 26' room. There is no room in their desks and no spare space in the room for school supplies, so the supplies are piled on top of the desks during the day.

I need 28 seat sacks to hold their pencil boxes, crayons, writer's notebooks, and lunches, otherwise they are kept in bookbags that are piled in a corner of the room on the floor.

Your help will ensure that these " at risk " students will utilize the wasted time that is spent going to their bookbags and digging through them 4 and 5 times a day to get supplies they need that do not fit in or on top of desks.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
