I teach Pre-K in a Title I school, where the majority of the children come from low income families with either free or reduce lunch. These children do not know how to play outside, nor do they want to. The children of today are considered technology children, who would rather sit in front of a computer or TV than go out to play. My goal is to try to stimulate and encourage children to run, play, and get fit without knowing that they are actually doing something good for themselves.

The students in my class are not physically active. This is a great concern to me with many health issues on the rise.

My students need outdoor exercise equipment to help them develop gross motor skills, which many are lacking. By having enough materials, including activity balls, balance boards, hop alongs, and an active play kit that includes several outdoor/indoor activity items, the children will all have the opportunity to actively engage in the participation of the exercise recreation.

With your help,it is possible for my students to have a good start on a healthy, physically fit and active life. Not only for my class I have now, but for many classes to come.
