"I teach Physical Education at an urban middle school (grades 6-8) whose population is comprised of a high percentage of students from very low socioeconomic conditions. My class is very diverse and includes many students who have never played a racket or paddle sport.

Our school has a lot of the equipment required to provide these opportunities for our students, but we're missing pieces needed to "finish the job". For example, we have several old, but salvageable and usable ping pong tables, but our paddles are all broken. We have poles and nets so we can set up pickleball and tennis courts, but we don't have the balls or rackets. My students have expressed interest in the games, but I have been unable to plan units due to the lack of equipment.

I am requesting tennis rackets, tennis balls, pickleball balls, table tennis paddles, and table tennis balls. These items will allow me to introduce my students to several new games. I will then be able to set up stations so that the students will get to experience each of the games for several days over the course of the unit.

With your help, many students will be able to experience new games that they might otherwise never play. The equipment will be able to be used for many years, so not only will my current students benefit, but many many more will as well. Please consider affording my students an opportunity they might otherwise not get.

My students need pickle balls, 20 ping pong paddles, ping pong balls, 6 tennis rackets and 12 tennis balls.

Dear David and Kori,
Thank you so much for your generosity. I can not tell you how excited I am that you have chosen to provide my students with the materials for games they would have otherwise never gotten a chance to play. My students will now be taught a lesson of paddle and racket games. In addition to badminton, my students can now learn tennis, ping pong, and "pickle ball" for the first time. I can't wait to see their excitement on the first day of the unit!
Thank you so much!

With gratitude,
Mr. D.
