Science and art come together as students learn the chemistry and design behind plaster casting. I teach high school theater for 9-12 grade. The theater environment is one of the few places where students from any end of the social spectrum can come together, disregard their prejudices of one another, and work collaboratively.

Students want to set a play in a graveyard with full body reliefs on top of the graves. They lack the proper supplies for the implementation of the design.

Using plaster gauze, students will learn why plaster is an inexpensive and effective medium for casting. The will learn how to properly prepare a model for a full body cast. And they will see an original set design for their play come to life.

Your donation will allow my students to bring their original and creative design to reality.
