"I am an 8th grade literature teacher in North Carolina. I teach at a school that serves both military and low income students. Many students are immediately turned off by reading. I want to make them love reading. I want them to know that it is not always boring, and even learning comprehension can be fun. A class set of New Moon would be an awesome way to inspire reading. The Twilight Series has become almost an overnight success. People who hate reading are picking these books up and reading the entire set in no time at all.
If our class could read this book together, we could discuss so many topics. It will help them with their comprehension as well. My students can talk about what they read in a Round Robin Session or even in smaller literary circles. You will make it possible, for me to finally teach my students a book that interest them. They will be excited to know that the book they are reading is going to be an upcoming movie. Please help me ensure that my students leave the 8th grade with a new love of reading.
My students need 30 copies of "New Moon" by Stephenie Meyer.
