" MORE "I teach all subjects to a gifted and talented accelerated class of 3rd graders in the Texas public school system. Our student population exceeds 700 pupils and over half of them are economically disadvantaged.
In the 1960's sci-fi television program, Lost in Space, a character played by a young boy has a constant robot companion watching out at all times for his well being. At certain times the robot would call out "Danger Will Robinson!" to warn the boy of a perilous situation before him. If the robot were in our classroom today, I am sure he would signal danger ahead. With the video and technological innovations of our day, it is increasingly difficult to perpetuate the interest of students with "old fashioned" equipment in the classroom.
The Elmo TT-02S with LCD projector will propel my students into the future. It will allow us to project pages from any book onto a whiteboard or wall in vivid color and great detail for all to see. When used with a whiteboard, students can "write" on the images to enhance their learning experience. An Elmo can also project three dimensional objects such as your hand and it will show every line and color variation. With this technology we can magnify and project true to life images of live specimen much like having a giant microscope. What third grader wouldn't be enthralled by a five foot insect on the classroom wall?
Your help will bring much needed technology into our classroom. Education can no longer lag behind in a world filling with technological advances. It is our responsibility to make sure our kids keep up with the rest of the world. Please help us get an Elmo so we won't be "Lost in Space".
My students need an Elmo Teacher&'s Tool with a Hitachi LCD Projector. HIDEMs. M.'s Classroom:
