The percentage of the students on free or reduced lunch at my pre-K through 5th grade elementary school is approximately 44%. The school day is packed with studying and preparing for the mandatory state tests. After school, most of our students spend a lot of their time at home in front of the television, or playing with a video game system, often with only one game. What our students don't have is the opportunity to explore real objects and create structures in three dimensions. I'm the school librarian at my school, and my hope is to fill the library tables with Legos, and fill the library with kids excited to build with them. I want to host a weekly after school Lego club for my second through 5th grade students. I want them to have enough Legos so that they can truly explore the possibilities of building their own creations. Your donation may help create future engineers, architects, and designers.
