""We are a prekindergarten class in a high-need community. As a teacher, I want my students to enjoy exploring their world through meaningful hands on activities that will provide them with many opportunities to be creative. Prekindergarten students are imaginative wonders and I want to develop their imagination as I believe this is the key to developing enthusiastic learners. With the appropriate supplies, my students will enjoy creative dance, theater, music and art projects. They will participate in the act of imagining, creating, and performing. I want them to have a prekindergarten experience that teaches them that they are able to bring whatever they imagine to life.
Prekindergarten students have great imaginative capacities. A gift that unfortunately doesn't get rewarded in school very often. As Albert Einstein noted, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." As a teacher, I would like to provide my students every possibility to create and perform. This freedom to imagine and create will help them construct the meaning of their world and keep them enthusiastic life long learners. Due to recent budget cuts, our classroom has a severely depleted budget. Unfortunately, we do not have the funding to supply the classroom with an array of arts materials. In order to help structure my students' imaginative desires, I will need musical instruments, dancing scarves and ribbons, and an array of art supplies such as paints, paint brushes, smocks, glitter, etc. With your help with providing these supplies, all of my students will be allowed to sing , dance, act, play music and paint! and their discovering the world and their own talents will be nurtured instead of eliminated due to budget restrictions. HIDE My students need materials for the exploration of the Arts including music, acting, dancing, and creating, such as musical instruments, art supplies, props for dance and theater.
