"Please help "Team Greene" with our mission to help our school go "green". I teach third grade in a Title I, high poverty elementary school in a small community. What we lack in supplies and resources is somewhat countered by my faculty's drive to show children a love of learning, a supportive administration and a commitment to fostering good citizens and community support within our school walls and out in the community. Our school has a Waste Management recycling bin within our school parking lot but we currently have no system of collecting materials that could be recycled within our school. With a cafeteria that sells many canned drinks and bottled water as well as wastebaskets full of paper that could be recycled, I know we could be doing a better job of saving our planet by a simply having supplies to collect materials that could be recycled. By introducing small recycling bins within grade-level classrooms and utilizing a "Team Greene" of 40 inspired 3rd-grade children to collect materials daily, our classroom could inspire a school-wide recycling project. Our "Team Greene Goes Green" project will not only benefit the two third grade classrooms I teach in the current year but inspire classes for years to come. Beyond our classroom walls, this project can impact our entire school and inspire others to be stewards in caring for our Earth. Our plan is to provide recycling education and collection bins around our school to foster good conservation/recycling habits school wide. The Go Greene team will experience soil experiments, compost bins, recycling paper projects and many more science experiments through the science teaching kits presented in our proposal. We then plan on using our classroom webpage and blog to present what we have learned to other classrooms and community agencies. Finally, helping us acquire supplies to begin collecting recyclable materials school-wide will impact our school in all grade-levels. Our classroom cheer is "Go Greene" but your donation can help us really "Go Green" on a school-wide level. Help me educate our students in conservation science curriculum in a hands-on, real-life applicable way and inspire many children and adults to increase their efforts to be stewards of our planet.
My students need hands-on science kits to explore science curriculum on soil and conservation, and containers to start a recycling project school-wide.
The cost of this proposal is $525, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ."

Dear Mrs. Penny, Trish, Meredith, Colleen , Barbara, Rugby Ralph Lauren and HP,
I can not tell you how excited I am to be able to share with my students about all the wonderful people who generously gave to make our learning journey a more hands-on experience. I literally cried when I saw the email notifying me that our project fund was completed and we would soon be getting our supplies. The children have been asking about when we can begin our "Team G" recycling group since the day I first showed them our class page. We have made math learning experiences reviewing three-digit subtraction every time we got a new donation. Your donations would tell us different states and we were able to review geography as we plotted the states on our class map. How perfect that our project was completely funded as we begin a social studies unit on citizenship and serving our country! I intend on using your kindness and generosity in tomorrow's lesson when I talk about all the people who gave of their own finances and resources to make our learning fun. Not only have you helped immediately impact the 60 students our grade level, but you have indirectly made a school-wide impact as we begin our recycling education program in our school. These supplies can be used for years to come so I can't thank you enough for impacting so many children. Your donation has allowed us many opportunities for learning about our earth and how to be stewards of our great planet. I can't wait to post pictures of our students using the items your donation has helped us to procure. Words can not express what a joyous heart I have at this moment. I wish each of you could be in the room when I make the announcement tomorrow morning. With gratitude, Mrs. G.

"Thank you so much for your generous donations. We check our page on Wednesday and Friday every week. The kids are so excited about meeting our goal. Since we are working on adding and subtracting money, we have been subtracting the donation amount each time. Thank you so much for supporting schools and our learning journey. We can not thank you enough!"
