"SHINING CHOICES FOR SUCCESS: students will learn of all alternative energy choices with a focus on solar energy. I will teach 5 classes of Environmental Science and one class of Biotechnical Engineering this year. My students are in the 11th and 12th grade. Our school has 3,200 diverse students with many "No Child Left Behind" students attending.
One of the HOT topics in the USA today is ENERGY!! I want to grab the attention of students to learn about alternative energy with activities that promote their interest such as building solar and hydrogen fuel cars. Wind turbines have been discussed for off-shore coastal states..let's investigate! The wind generator will allow students to research the possibilities of using wind power. Solar activities (solar car, solar beads and solar oven) will excite students to the possibilities of using solar energy. Finally the hydrogen fuel car may be in their future. What better way to learn than build one! Imagine the next generation using solar, wind, nuclear and hydro power and not being able to imagine why we used fossil fuels for so long? Think about it! HIDE My students need 5 alternative energy resources, including solar cars, a solar oven, solar beads, a wind generator and a hydrogen fuel car.
The cost of this proposal is $1,489, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment Ms. P.'s Classroom:
