""The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go."
— Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"
I am beginning my second year of teaching first grade in Wisconsin. My classroom includes many English Language Learners and readers from all reading levels. I was given some very outdated books last year which did not provide adequate educational value. The other books I used were lent to me by a colleague, who is returning to first grade this year and needs her books back. I am now faced with setting up my own classroom library. First grade is such an important year for students to learn how to read. My students are in need of educational books at their various reading levels. I have selected several books sets that will aid in the education of my students. Having these books in our classroom will provide wonderful educational experiences! You will make it possible for my students to explore and read books geared toward their learning and interests.
My students need 22 leveled book sets.

with the
life-giving power of literature.
If I were a young person today, trying to
gain a sense of
myself in the world, I would do that again by reading,
just as I
did when I was young." - Maya AngelouWith gratitude, Ms. K.
