Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach Spanish 1 and 2 to high school inner city students in a low-income, high-need community.

My school is not able to provide the students with technology in the classroom, but I want them to be afforded the same opportunities as other students.

I am willing to use my own laptop, but I need a LCD projector to present PowerPoint presentations and videos that will increase the students' interest in learning and allow them to visually see other cultures.

Your help will ensure that the students are given the same learning opportunity as other students in their surrounding communities. My goals is to provide them with a fun learning community, which allows them to experience other forms of technology besides myspace and cell phones. Also, No Child Left Behind requires the use of technology in the classroom.
