This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
In an inner-city classroom, students often do not have money for lunch let alone paper and basic school supplies. Your donation will provide hours of homework, skill development, fun and self esteem.
Though it may seem simple that file folders and copy paper can change the lives of my students, it will. I teach literacy, or English, but we do not have books for each child, and they can not take them home. I have to copy stories, homework, writing assignments, and often reports for other classes, since a lot of my students do not have computers at home.
Your donation will provide folders and files for each student so they can watch their reading levels rise, bringing them closer to college and a brighter future. Each piece of copy paper can be homework, a writing prompt, an award for just being special, a note home, a grant proposal. Please do not overlook this request because it seems small. Your donation will change lives and create futures brighter than you will ever dream of.
