Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a high-need, low economical school. My students are in the third and fourth grade. They are in an urban school in Washington State.
Our school is facing major budget cuts and has not been able to afford art supplies. My students enjoy learning new types of art and show a interest in all school subjects when they are able to participate in art.
I need paint brushes so that every student will be able to paint at the same time, currently I need to borrow brushes from the other teachers when we paint. I need weaving supplies that will engage my students in learning about Native Americans. I need print making supplies and oil pastels to introduce my students to other art mediums.
You can help my students gain confidence in themselves through art. You can provide them enrichment activities that will allow them to express themselves through art.
