"Successful reading achievement leads to proficiency in the mathematics and science classroom.

I teach fourth grade in a Title I, low-income, high poverty environment. All students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Supplies are scarce. We are in desperate need of chapter books to read and improve our reading comprehension and language skills.

In our classroom, the textbooks are outdated and we are in need of engaging authentic literature. Our students are 2-3 reading levels behind the national norm. By teaching our children to read chapter books they enjoy, the urge to read will continue throughout their adult lives. By improving our children's reading comprehension and language skills they will possess the necessary devices to become independent, successful citizens.

We are in need of exciting literature that can captive and engage our students. Books such as Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and James and the Giant Peach, take children to far away places that they might never visit or imagine exist. These books will engage our children's imagination while encouraging them to improve their skills in reading. Better readers prove to become successful in all other subjects and arenas in life.

Thank you in advance for your consideration to support this project. We would be forever grateful for your support. Know that these books will serve our current needs as well as our siblings who follow in our path of life. Sincerely, Our Fourth Grade Class.

My students need 4 copies each of 13 book titles to read and discuss during student led literature circles.

Dear Friends,

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for providing my students with wonderful authentic literature. Reading is the key to becoming successful independent citizens. Without good reading habits our children would lack the skills necessary to achieve greatness. In addition, they would miss out on life's adventures and mysteries.

In my class we place a high priority on reading achievement. We read everyday across the curriculum. We incorporate reading into our free time and all other available opportunities. We know that our future successes are contingent on our ability to read.

Without your generous contribution our lives would be incomplete. I thank you for your blessing of wonderful books!

With gratitude,
Ms. A.

Dear Causecast, Debie and Johanna,
Wow! Your wonderful contribution of books will be received with pleasure and joy. Books are the only outlet my students have for exploration. Thanks to supporters like you my students will have the opportunity to become successful independent thinkers.

These books will be read and read until the pages fall out. There will be lots of imagination and creativity in progress. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Be well!

With gratitude,
Ms. A.
