Mr. Helfrich from Saint Louis MO is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 25 copies of "Sin and Syntax: How to Craft Wickedly Effective Prose" by Constance Hale.

My kids are so excited for their all-new AP Literature class,as well as their British Literature class, and they need your help to make it happen! My students are all entering the 12th grade, many of whom have never had an Advanced Placement course. They are very excited for their senior year of high school, and all plan on attending college next year.
Although my students are greatly intrigued by their placement in these courses, the school does not have the budget to purchase the texts needed to teach the high-level reading and writing skills that these students desperately need to possess upon entering college.
All of my students plan on attending accredited four-year universities; however, virtually all are not on grade-level in regards to their writing. These books are needed for teaching students how to write effectively and in formal language. Also, they will work well for aiding students in taking their literary analysis papers, memoirs, and reflective writing to the next level. They need to feel empowered to write, especially as they prepare for collegiate writing.
Please help my students receive the materials they need to complete the high-level work for these various courses. Not only will this class set of books help to prepare them for the AP exam and in-class writing prompts that many will complete this year, but they will also prepare them for college-level writing and reading, as well as teaching them to participate in high-level discussions. My students need these books to clearly guide them through the writing process and make abstract concepts much easier to grasp. With your help, I am sure that these books can do just the trick!
