Steady Learning Makes for a Sturdy Base On Which to Learn
Hi, I teach 6th grade Math in Louisiana. We are a school in school improvement and are working hard on researched based strategies that will increase student achievement. The school is in a high risk socioeconomic area with a poverty level of 100%.
We are in dire need of sturdy tables in which this cooperative, hands-on, higher order thinking learning can take place. The tables we now have are wobbly, chipped and pieces together from other junked table parts. My students constantly complained about the tables wiggling while writing, conducting experiments, or snagging their clothes.
I know that having sturdy tables on which the students can work collaboratively in groups while using hands-on materials is a great way to increase student engagement and stimulate higher order thinking!!!
Likewise, it's researched based and it has been proven to work!!
As you can see, receiving this donation from you will ensure that my students will have a sturdy, stable, environment that is conducive to learning; which will ultimately make a great difference in their learning process, as well as aid in improving our Math Scores tremendously for high stakes testing. Thanking you in advance.
