"I am a third grade teacher in a Pre-k-8th grade school. Most of my students come from very low income families. Many of these children face poverty, violence, and obscenities of life on a daily basis, that are well beyond what most of us could imagine. Yet, my students do their best to learn.

I try my best to give them a good education and an introduction to the American way of life, but with limited resources, there are many things that others consider basic parts of education, that I cannot provide without assistance. Many of them never get the opportunity to leave not only the inner city they live in, but also the state of Connecticut. Many of them are not fortunate enough to have families who help them with their homework or read to them. Therefore, reading in school is essential.

Reading is essential for educational growth, and imparting knowledge. Stories that students can relate to, encourage them to want to read and help acquire skills for reading development. My students have shown immense interest and have benefited greatly in all areas of reading and writing development, during the study of the books "Stone Fox" and "The Hundred Dresses." However, due to the lack of books in the classroom, I had to share with my grade partner, and even then did not have enough copies to give each individual student to read. By having their own individual book to follow along with, will allow them to participate in the read aloud, go back in the book when doing activities, and even bring home to read at night with their families.

You will make it possible for my students to have 30 copies of the books "Stone Fox" and "The Hundred Dresses" along with 30 composition notebooks and a box of copy paper, so that my students can do projects correlated with the books. They can write responses to what they have read, and share personal opinions and connections with their fellow classmates. HIDE

My students need 30 copies of the books "Stone Fox" and "The Hundred Dresses". They also need 30 composition notebooks and a box of copy paper to do the assignments. The cost of this proposal is $539, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."
