"Reading is a gift we are given that opens the doors to creative possibilities. I teach second grade at a very new charter school in California. The school is in a high-need community and we are trying to find as many resources for our students as possible. Imagine the frustration of sitting down to read a book that looked fabulous, only to find that the reading level is way too hard. My students need a variety of books to captivate their young minds. They also need books that allow them to graduate from level to level so that they can track their amazing progress toward reading mastery. Having a class library of leveled readers will allow students to easily select a text that is both interesting and at her/his reading level. Students will be able to practice at her/his instructional level, and savor the taste of stepping closer and closer to their reading growth goals. This library would be absolutely invaluable, not only to my classroom, but to our entire school. By contributing to our school, you will help impact the academic trajectory of our student's lives. We want every child that enters the classroom to have the resources available to attain an excellent education. You can help make this dream a reality!
My students need a classroom library of leveled readers.

Dear Bess, Rick, Kfan in Korea, Patricia, sarah, Chelse, Kristin, Abigail, Moses Foundation, Florence, Erin, Robby Biegler, Mark Engelhaupt, Jamie, Scott, Jeremy, Cary Rodda and Anonymous Donor,
I am humbled by the collective effort of such fabulous people to make this classroom project become a reality. Your generosity is not only appreciated, it will allow for the continuous enjoyment of reading for years to come. Our classroom library will not only provide my students with appropriate reading material, it will also help them monitor their progress as they increase their reading level over time. Additionally, this classroom project will be shared with other grade levels. Our entire school will enjoy the benefits of these materials! I am incredibly thankful for this invaluable gift and look forward to using our leveled readers. With gratitude, Mr. S.
