Projecting Visual Learning

"I am a 6th Grade high needs special education-inclusion Science teacher in the inner city. My students are culturally and academically diverse and range from gifted, LD, BD and Autistic. One thing all of these kids have in common is that they all love science class and its experiments!

We have recently added a fantastic hands on science curriculum that is very challenging to my students. With budget cuts in education, we have fewer textbooks and workbooks. We also have no money to make copies of all the information and assignments that I need to best teach my students who with their special needs, need visuals.

In order to implement my lessons, lab reports, and science experiments I REALLY need an ELMO digital image projector. Having this projector will allow me to model step by step and give visual aids to all my students. This LCD projector will allow all of my students to "be on the same page" and learn to the best of their capabilities. It will also help us save paper!

"Why donate to this project" you ask? By funding this digital image projector you are giving so much more that a piece of equipment. You are giving 3 classrooms of students visual aids, pages in books, posters, examples, experiences,and a chance! 6th Grade Science is a very important subject. Next year my students will be tested in science on standardized tests. Those test scores are the key to help these kids get into a good high school and a chance to go to college. That will enable them to make a better life for themselves! You can really make a difference and give these kids what they need to be the best that they can be! Please help us! HIDE
