Creating Brilliant Writers! These Students Are Amazing!!!!!!

My students need paper and materials to publish their writing, big books, creative paper, fun things to write with, refills for our books. My students also need to practice reading non-fiction text using "Time for Kids".

I teach third grade at an elementary school in Washington DC. Our school offers students a safe place where they can excel. With help from previous DonorsChoose grants, my class received an award for the greatest student achievement in the school! These students are brilliant and I want these materials to help bring their genius out!

Where did you want to go to college? Most of our students don't know the answer to this question because they have never dreamed that they would have the opportunity! However, we start making sure students know they can go to college at the age of 3! By the time students come to third grade I hope to inspire them to start dreaming and dreaming big! Our students have so much going on in their personal lives. Some of our students do not have homes and live in shelters, and others have to help their siblings at home. Many students go to homes that are unsafe. When my students come into my classroom I want them to feel safe and proud! I hope that my students feel at home in the classroom and look forward to coming in. Mostly, I want my students to fall in love with writing and know that it is fun! I believe that these materials will help students do this.

I need materials to create a literacy based classroom! First off I need leveled books to replace books that students are now enjoying at home. I also need a Time for Kids subscription to keep students up to date with current events and allow them to read newspapers on their level! Finally, I want to create a writer's paradise! This paradise will allow students to use their imagination and publish amazing works! The writer's paradise will be full of exciting paper they can publish with, and markers, pens, and pencils that invigorate their imaginations. I can't wait to show you what they make! I know my students will look forward to writing everyday!

By supporting my project you will allow students to really explore what they are capable of! Students will understand that they can do and be anything they put their mind to!
