"I teach in a low income district, grades 10-12, English. The community is rural. My students need to see the outside of their community.

We had a speaker come to our school this past year who was part of the "Friends of Rachel" group. The speaker spoke about acceptance and bullying, and the experience of Columbine, and the student body was very moved. It touched some of our kids and through this piece of literature I hope to continue this thought process and to keep Rachel's memory going.

With the economic times, new books in my district is hard to come by. The 33 copies of Rachel's Tears would benefit my students and give them access to new materials that they have already shown interest in.

By supporting my classroom, you empower my students to become better people and that is a beautiful gift!

My students need 33 copies of Rachel's Tears, a story about a girl who was killed at Columbine.

Dear Holly, Margaret Griffel, Jackie, Carol (and kids), Jennifer, Brittany, Amy and Anonymous Donor,
I cannot thank you all enough for your generous donations! It is very touching to know that so many people care about education!

Rachel's Tears is a wonderful addition to my classroom. It is a story that contains morals, real life, and tells about a girl that would have done wonderful things. We had the Friend of Rachel group come into our school and do a presentation on Columbine and bullying and our students were deeply affected by this. It is my hope to continue on with those feelings to try and teach a safer school.

Again, thank you for you care toward my students!

With gratitude,
Ms. F.

Dear Holly, Margaret Griffel, Jackie, Carol (and kids), Jennifer, Brittany, Amy and Anonymous Donor,
I cannot thank you enough for donating to my students' project. They are looking forward to getting these books.
We had an assembly a year ago where students from Columbine talked. Our school started the Friends of Rachel group that tries to build safe, bully-free environments.
My students were very moved and wanted to know more after the assembly. Several them are part of the Friends of Rachel group and actively talk about the group and the situation that happened at Columbine. I feel this piece of literature will inspire and help the Friends of Rachel group with their goal of having a safe environment.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THAT POSSIBLE!

With gratitude,
Ms. F.

"We gave to this project because when I was in school I know that my favorite thing was getting to find out about the interesting things of the world and I feel that every child deserves that chance, to feel the fascination of learning something new and knowing you discovered it and you can share it with the whole class, something only you know."
