"Curious students in a high-need community seek the ability to tell stories through the art of photography! Students are always looking for new ways to tell stories and many are turned off by the idea of writing. My Language Arts students are always looking for new ways to see the world. Though their lives don't always allow the to travel beyond their hometown, they can explore through technology. We have arranged for a photojournalist to come in to speak to the students about telling a story through photography. Having an SLR camera will help students capture photos they would not normally be able to capture on a point and shoot camera. I'm hoping that students will be able to find a new form of expression that may inspire to develop an appreciation and love of photography and storytelling. You can make all the difference in the lives of these students by providing them with the tools they need to become 21st century storytellers.
My students need a digital SLR camera.
