Our special education department is in need of a locking filing cabinet to safely and conveniently store confidential student records. A major responsibility to all special education students and their families is completing Individual Education Plans (IEP) in an appropriate and timely fashion. These plans stay with each student throughout their entire academic careers, including post-secondary education. The large size of most folders makes transporting them from office to classroom extremely difficult. To give these records appropriate attention they must be stored in a private, safe, yet convenient location where only a student's case manager and the special education coordinator can have access to them. The preferred location is inside a special educators classroom. To do this we need a locking filing cabinet.
