Our school is a Title 1 school in North Carolina and I will be teaching 2nd grade this year. We are definitely a high-need school, and with budget cuts, new supplies are hard to get.

Bright, colorful manipulatives are an excellent way for students to learn math concepts! I found in previous years teaching 4th grade that so many students didn't know how to tell time. This year, with clock manipulatives, we're going to learn in 2nd grade.

Students love manipulatives. With the selection of math manipulatives that I've chosen, they will learn to tell time, to explore the many types of measurement, and to have fun practicing their addition skills with dominoes. Also, our school has a large ESL population, and manipulatives are especially helpful to them.

You will help me to help my students get a jump on their math skills. Having manipulatives also makes school FUN! and motivation is one part of the answer to teaching young students.
