"My students are eager learners who lack many of the resources necessary to be successful in the classroom.

I teach 7th and 8th grade English in a high-needs school where most of the students walk into my classroom each day without the basic school supplies to get the job done.

Working in a school with a lot of challenges, the one that should be most easy to overcome is providing my students with the necessary supplies to achieve our learning objectives. However, due to a variety of reasons, most of the students arrive to school each day without the basics. As a result, I have to regularly provide them with pencils and paper, not to mention the other materials necessary to foster a smoothly running learning environment.

My students need pencils, pens, loose leaf paper, composition books, markers, pencil sharpeners, and folders. They use these supplies everyday for a variety of tasks, and unfortunately learning can quickly be derailed without them.

I just need the basics! It's amazing what a difference it makes when there are plenty of available school supplies for my students. The pace quickens, the students feel supported and prepared, and we can focus on the learning at hand. Please contribute to creating a positive learning environment in my classroom by providing these most essential supplies.

My students need 11 school supplies such as pens, pencils, paper, 100 composition books, folders, and highlighters.

Dear Karen, Lesley, Jayne and Overton, Anne, Elizabeth, Peter and Emily, Jim, Mary Elizabeth, Danielle & Dustin, M. Giant and M. Edium and Anonymous Donors,
I am overwhelmed by the generous outpouring of support you all have shown me and my students. Everyday working with these children is a process toward making them prepared for the world they will soon encounter. The more obstacles I face, the more difficult my job becomes, and the more my students end up losing out on great opportunities for their present and future success. All that's to say, your donations for purchasing school supplies for these kids means everything! With the proper supplies in abundance, they can experience success everyday. It is no small thing, I assure you.

I'm sincerely grateful to you all.

With gratitude,
Ms. J.
