"How do you learn best? Students learn by hearing, saying, and doing. I need your help in giving my students a chance to increase their reading abilities. My students could benefit from your generosity in helping us purchase a listening center with books. With budget cuts, I will not be able to offer my students chances to hear good, quality literature over and over. I teach in a first grade classroom in a rural SC county.
Some of my students come to me feeling as if they are not readers. I feel that if I can boost their confidence in their reading, by listening to stories during center time, they will see themselves as readers. I am requesting 4 portable CD players with headphones and adapters (since batteries are so expensive) and a set of books on CD. This will help my struggling readers feel more confident in their reading. They will be able to hear how the story should sound, and they will also be able to pick up some more sight words to help their reading. Your help will ensure that my students will get a boost in their reading and listening skills--all essential lifelong skills. HIDE My students need 4 portable CD players with headphones a set of Single Student CD Read-Alongs.
