"Thank you for taking the time to read our classroom proposal. I am a third grade elementary teacher in the city of South Los Angeles. I teach predominantly third grade English Language Learners. Our school is located in a low-income community where both parent and students work extremely hard to succeed in life!!
Have you ever had that perfect smile, moment, or just the perfect picture? Well, I have....Every day, I have the opportunity of teaching 24 hard working English Language Learners that love to learn. Each day I am fortunate to see my students beautiful faces when they light up with smiles when they figured out the correct answer, made a new friend, or just want to give the teacher a gift, a happy smile. Sadly, our situation is that we do not have a digital camera to take pictures of these beautiful and exciting memories. The solution to our problem would be if generous people as yourself, would touch their hearts and help us "Capture our Moments." We would be very grateful if you would take into consideration and help us fulfill our proposal. There are many reasons why our classroom needs a digital camera. First of all, our students love to see pictures of themselves smiling....since many of their days are filled with many hardships such as poverty, neglect, loneliness, divorce, among others. Secondly, in order to continue writing proposals, we need to start providing Thank -you packages with a digital camera, which we do not have. We would love to be able and continue writing proposals to help us succeed and acquire a good education....but we need to start by having the tools to fulfill our classroom proposals, nicely and promptly. Last but not least, a digital camera will be useful all school year. We will use it to capture our fun school performances, classroom presentations, end of the year picture, during field trips, our friends, and many other fun and exciting activities. Then we ask you to, "Take the challenge! Help make a difference and help us capture those snapshots...." We would love to be able and take a lot of pictures. The pictures can be used for our family, journal writing, special projects, classroom bulletins and friends. So FOCUS your Snapshot and help provide us with a digital camera that will truly help make a difference in our daily lives. Ask yourself, "How many pictures will they take?" Our answer as many as possible to make each other happy. Hey, at the end.....one day we will be able to look back and see how silly, fun, and sweet we were in third grade! Thank you for your time and we hope you can help provide us with a digital camera to use each day. Friendship....that's all it takes! My students need a Nikon Coolpix Digital Camera.
