"I am a teacher in New York who teaches science to seventh grade students and also am an extra substitute when other teachers are absent. My school does not have enough classrooms for all of its teachers and some teachers, like myself, don't even have a desk.
My students need some consistency in an environment where consistency is difficult due to the fact that I borrow classrooms from other teachers. With no classroom to call my own I am very limited as to where I can have students hand in assignments and pick up worksheets for the day. Each day it varies based on what room is available in the classroom I am using. Having a mobile draw cart will allow both me and my students to have consistent organization, which is so important.
My classroom also includes special education students who have difficulty organizing so sheet protects can help them organize their notebooks and protect the papers that students must hold on to for the whole year. As this task often proves difficult, having a special covering for these papers increases the likelihood that they will not get lost or ripped throughout the year.
In addition, motivation is so important with middle school students. Keeping them focused requires me to be able to walk around the room at all times. A presentation remote will allow me the freedom to step away from the board to keep students on task and to answer questions while still allowing me to point to or highlight items on the board.
Your donation will help make it possible for me to create the classroom environment that my students need. You can make is possible for me to bring consistency and organization to my students and to be that little extra thing that means the difference between focus and lack of focus in the classroom.
I thank you very much for your consideration of my project
My students need a Mobile Organizer, 5 tab sheet protectors, and a Targus Notebook Wireless Presenter.

Dear Trisha, Korein Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
This is just a small note to express my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The cart and the presentation clicker that you donated have helped my students every single day. It is great to be able to walk around the room to help students without feeling the need to rush back up to the board to point something out or change the slide. The presentation clicker is also a big hit with the students who now love to get involved more with the lesson so that they can use the clicker too. I can only speak wonders about the cart and how it has helped the organization of both myself and my students. Each class knows that they have a certain color drawer in the cart. When the period begins they go right to their drawer to pick up materials and drop off anything that needs to be handed in. Now I don't have to worry that students will be confused as to where things are in the different rooms that we have to use. Have this piece of organization helps to counteract the disorganization of not having my own classroom.
Our school, like many others, is working to stretch our budget as much as possible. Your donation has made it possible to purchase the equipment that will provide the enrichment that my students are looking for.
Donors like you make learning possible in today's schools and I can't thank you enough.
With gratitude, Ms. C.

Dear Trisha, Korein Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
Thank you so much!!! You don't know how shocked I was to open up my e-mail and find a Donors Choose message saying that my project was funded. I wish I could put into words how fantastic this and how much I truly appreciate it, but words are just escaping me right now. It has been so hard for me to get organized this past year with having to move from room to room. Unfortunately this has left the students at a disadvantage because they don't always have places to keep their work and hand in papers. With this cart, the students and I will be able to stop spending time trying to get organized and get down to the science! In addition, I can feel free to walk around and help students without having to feel like I'm trapped at the computer in order to operate the PowerPoint or website that goes along with the lesson. The beginning of the school year is always exciting for me and knowing that I will have these new supplies coming to me makes me wish that the school year started tomorrow.
Thank you again so, so much.....my students in the upcoming year will now not have to know what they could have missed.
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.

"I gave to this project because...I know how hard it is to be a teacher without your own classroom and not have enough supplies just adds to the frustration."
"Thank you so much for your support. It's very hard to keep my students organized when I don't even have the supplies to be organized myself. Any support you can give is most appreciated."

"We wanted to thank all the teachers out there for inspiring and making a difference in your projects. As a student that wasn't that great at math or science (but a fabulous reader!) I know how important education is. Dont worry...even us C students went to college and graduated...it just took a little longer!
Study hard!"
