Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it! I teach at a Title 1 school deep in the heart of military country. We are located 5 miles west of one of our country's largest Air Force Bases. The children at our school make up the largest group of socio-economically disadvantaged students in our county.

Our students are daily surrounded by men and women who fight for the protection of our country and the rights of everyone. I feel it is important for them to have the background knowledge needed to appreciate what these hero's are doing and have dome for them. Students are continually ask the how and why of our country's history and the service that the military have provided to them.

By have an accessible library of or country from infancy to today I will be able to establish a background knowledge with the students to give them a firm understanding of the role our service men and women have provided to them and let the students understand and value the freedom they enjoy by being American citizens.

You will make it possible for my students to understand the sacrifices that that have been endured over time for my students freedom, You will give them the opportunity to learn about our great country and everything she has to give them. Your help in funding this project will make words come to life for students who have little understanding of the sacrifices that have been made on their behalf.
