Bill Nye the Science Guy Rocks! I work in a high-poverty middle school. I teach 6th grade science. A lot of my students do not feel that science can be fun. I think that they feel this way because they do not understand a lot of it. I love science and I try to convey that everyday. I am very animated and I show my enthusiasm for science, and my students pick up on that. I want to show them that even though science can be hard at times, it is still fun! I have showed Bill Nye to my classes before, and they LOVED him. He is fun, and keeps the students' interest the whole time...while they are learning!

The usual amount of money given to us every year to buy supplies has been seriously cut due to budget cutbacks. This has made it impossible for me to buy the series, or even one of the DVDs. I am a new teacher, so I am starting from scratch. This would be an addition to my library that I will use for years to come! I will also be sharing this with other teachers from my school, so not only will my students benefit from this, but hundreds of other students will!

The Bill Nye DVDs will be a great supplemental material for my classes. Bill Nye puts science in a way that students will not only understand, but they will be interested! I want to motivate my students to not only think about science at school, but at home, and elsewhere in their community.

I grew up with Bill Nye. Science was not always a strong point for me growing up. I saw one episode and couldn't wait to get home every day to watch it. He made science fun for me! I want to pass that on to my students. I feel that they will learn so much from these DVDs. I know that I did!
