Thank you for considering my proposal! I am a first grade teacher and I love sharing my passion for learning with students. One area that needs extra support is writing. I have spent many years trying to create and buy writing journals that meet the needs of my young learners. It has been a challenge. The primary composition books I am requesting provide students with larger lines to support proper handwriting, and include drawing space for developmentally appropriate illustrations and expression. I would love to have a class supply of these journals for the the 2009-2010 school year. We would be able to use these journals throughout the entire school year, and the format will allow students the support needed to grow as writers. They are also a great communication tool to share writing samples and joint writing projects with students' families. These journals will be used to integrate all subject areas because I believe that students learn to write as they write about all that they are learning. Thank you so much for your time and consideration! We are doing great things in my class, and you can help us continue to do so!
