I teach 5th grade students the intrigue of history using the fun historical accounts of Jean Fritz.

When competing with the lure of video gaming and TV, history can come alive with true voice using Jean Fritz's books.

The students travel through time living the lives of some of the important names in the Revolutionary War period. They progress at their own direction through reading the collage of books on historical figures. As they finish each book, students complete comprehension questions to verify their knowledge. This is a child driven learning process that gives choice and freedom along with fantastic learning.
