"Picture this… a group of ecstatic high school students proudly displaying their panoramic photo projects. With your help, this can become reality for my advanced photography students. I teach art, photography and graphic design at a small rural high school. I challenge my advanced students with projects that are both technically and conceptually complex. My goal is to encourage higher order thinking that will unlock new avenues for creative expression. I also incorporate media exploration of various print processes and formats. I am fortunate enough to have a good quality color printer in my classroom that is capable of printing on rolls of photo paper. This means my advanced students could print photos that are 8.5 inches wide by however long they want. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to purchase photo paper rolls on my small budget. Your support will allow my students to broaden their experience and have more opportunities for expression by working in a larger format. My advanced photo students are committed to the photographic medium and it is highly likely that they will take photography courses in college, and may even pursue photo-related careers after college. This project will help prepare them for college by allowing them to use authentic art materials that they may use in future careers or that they may use for gallery shows. Visual art classes prepare students for college by developing innovative thinking and creative problem solving skills.
My students need 2 rolls of glossy photo paper and a supply of ink cartridges.

Dear Ryan, James, Jessica, Ann, Lola, Kelly, Jesse, alexandra k, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
Thank you so much for your generosity. Your donations will make it possible for my advanced photography students to take their art to new heights. In my classes, I emphasize the importance of experiencing new media and trying new and challenging formats. The ability to make panoramic prints is awesome and inspiring. My students can now make art like the professional artists they see in galleries. Thank you again, you really do make a difference in the lives of students! With gratitude, Mrs. S.
