I am a fourth grade teacher at a newer school with excellent technological capabilities. We serve students from all socioeconomic backgrounds and with a variety of special needs.

Although we have amazing technology, due to a lack in funding, we are not able to purchase the programs needed to inspire and ensure learning for all of our students. We need to be able to reach our highest and our lowest students. BrainPOP is a program that can help us achieve that goal.

BrainPOP is a high-energy, animated, curricular based series of on-line lessons. As a teacher, I can choose content from Science, Social Studies, English, Math, Art and Music, Technology, or Health. After viewing the often hilarious lesson, students are able to take a quick quiz to check their understanding of the concept. This program is especially helpful to students who learn best by seeing and hearing. It is also a valuable differentiation tool! The on-line content can provide review or a different perspective for those students who are struggling with a concept. It can also help students go beyond grade level standards to explore new concepts and ideas.

Your donation will help inspire learning in my classroom. Kids need variety and new ways of looking at things. BrainPOP provides them with just that! As a teacher, I can't help but get a smile on my face when my students ask, "Please!? Show it again!!!"
