My students need a classroom membership to access the internet based program BrainPop. They need access to BrainPop, BrainPop Jr., and BrainPop Espanol.

I teach ELLs (English Language Learners) in grades 3-5 for an elementary school in Greenville County, SC. My students consistently perform above the state/district average on state testing. Most recently, my students' scores helped our school become a SC Palmetto Gold school for closing the gap in test scores. I would like to continue this trend.

Our school's media center has purchased BrainPop for school access in the past, but is no longer purchasing any memberships due to budget cuts.

I believe this program to be very worthwhile to all students, but especially to ELLs. They benefit from the oral and visual explanation of topics like main idea, theme, etc. Plus, the cartoons are entertaining and funny. There are a wide range of topics that the students can watch and learn about. There is also a quiz and activity after every video. There is a free program for teachers, BrainPop for Educators, that gives teachers tips and ideas on how to use the BrainPop in lessons. I especially love the BrainPop Espanol, because my students can watch videos in English and then in Spanish for even more clarity.

You will make it possible for my students to have a better understanding of various academic subjects. These videos coincide with mini-lessons or complete lesson plans that I teach everyday. These videos help keep the children interested and make learning fun. Thank you for investing in our future.
