"Everyone loves a good sing along! What better way to get kids excited about reading than by singing along with their favorite artists. Our elementary has been working extremely hard to improve the reading skills of all our students. Third grade is an important turning point for readers. I try to encourage all my students to find a love for reading.
I am wanting to purchase a karaoke machine to use during reading. Kids love music and I would like to use music to help students increase their reading fluency.
A karaoke machine will allow me to combine the love of music with reading practice and provide a fun and exciting way for students to improve their reading fluency.
With your help, we can work together to provide a fun learning environment and encourage all students to find a love for reading.

Dear Beth, Aliene, Ella, Adam Fan, Jo, Elizabeth, Joanna, Caiti and Anonymous Donors,
Thank you so much for supporting our classroom project "Singing for Fluency"! We are a small rural K-12 school and we have made a commitment to improve reading scores throughout the school. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to improve reading fluency. Thanks to your generous donations the karaoke machine will help us get students excited about practicing fluency. Students learn in a variety of ways and music has been shown to be a successful tool. I plan to take full advantage of the benefits of using music in my classroom. My third grade students are so excited to sing along to their favorite hits. We plan to use 15 - 20 minutes at the end of each Friday to "celebrate" reading by using our Karaoke machine.
Thanks again for all you have done! Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
With gratitude, Mrs. E.

Dear Beth, Aliene, Ella, Adam Fan, Jo, Elizabeth, Joanna, Caiti and Anonymous Donors,
Thanks to ALL of you! I truly appreciate each and every one of your donations! The students in my room are SO excited. We will use the Karaoke machine on Fridays to practice our reading fluency. Fluency is an important factor to becoming a lifelong reader. I believe music is a wonderful teaching tool. I look forward to watching the students sing along to popular songs and improve their reading at the same time! Thanks again for your thoughtfulness and generosity! You are great ambassadors for reading and music education!
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.

"To Mrs. Elfeldt and her students:
It was our pleasure to help you out! I'm sure you'll have fun and learn a lot with your karaoke machine. Maybe someday you could sing along with Adam Lambert, who encouraged us to get involved with Donors Choose! But we didn't just do it for Adam; we did it for all the wonderful teachers and students across the country. You are truly our future.
Love, Elizabeth"
