I work for an at risk Pre-K program in Southern Illinois. Over 80% of our school population is below the poverty level.

As our photo shows, our refrigerator is missing a door. The children do not even know what it is supposed to be. The sink is also missing some parts. Our small budget allows us to replace small items but does not cover large expenses like furniture.

I have requested a five in one kitchen set. It will replace the broken refrigerator and sink. It has a cabinet and a stove. It also includes a microwave which we do not currently have. I believe the kitchen set will increase play in the housekeeping area. The housekeeping center helps preschoolers learn about their world. They develop social skills and independence by pretending to be adults. They learn to work in groups and share materials.

Your donation will allow these students the opportunity to practice the social skills necessary to be successful adults.
