I teach social studies to 110 lively 5th graders. It is a rural community with a high poverty rate.

I've got a great recipe for my classroom... 110 enthusiastic students 1 teacher wanting what is best for the kids Great topics in American History to learn A computer with limitless information But I'm missing one ingredient...a printer. Students are becoming very tech savvy, and I would like my students to have the opportunity to use our classroom computer for projects or research. The classroom computer has Internet access, but no printer. This limits its educational use.

When I get a printer for the classroom computer, students will be able to take the "bland" research projects and "spice" them up. Students will be able to print pictures, photos, charts and maps for their projects. They will be able to research topics for their social studies and science classes and PRINT that research. They will also be able to take reading comprehension tests, and print the results for the reading teacher.
