My Title I students are in desperate need of a new computer! I teach Kindergarten in a very low income school with old computers not workable for my students.

Most of my students do not have access to a computer at home and only for 30 minutes a week at school. My classroom has 2 "dinosaur" computers that are not working.

If my students had access to a computer in the classroom they would be able to engage in great literacy and math programs through technology. Once we receive the notebook computer our children will be provided an opportunity each day during centers to use special cd's that aide in student's ability to read. Students will use headphones to listen and read text at own level. Children can work with a partner during this time to learn how to share and take turns while also feeding off of each other to decode words. Students will also be able to access a variety of educational sites during recess time or as a reward that will assist the students in both literacy and math skills.

Your help can create an exciting way to learn in the classroom! This could provide an opportunity that my students would not have otherwise.
