Technology in the 21st century includes reaching out to others with a voice that all can hear and understand. I teach half of the day 5th grade and the other half 6th grade in a Dual Immersion school. This is the first year it is being introduced to our community. We are working to help students learn both Spanish and English in ways that are life changing.

I am working hard to introduce technology along with their studies. We are lacking headsets (that block out sound) to record their voices into computers.

We need headsets that students can record and then listen to their own voice. Then they could hear the mistakes they make and then correct them the next time they read into Garageband. With this resource, I can take them into projects like podcasting, reading books for younger grades in both Spanish and English, and most of all improving their own fluency.

Headsets will be the turning point for my students. Any way to help Spanish speaking and English speaking students to communicate with power and influence would be appreciated. What they have to say can help make the world a better place. Technology is the way for us to reach out and be part of the community; which happens to be the world. Dual Immersion makes two languages touch. Please help me with letting others hear what they have to say.
