My students need 6 copies of 10 high interest low level chapter books, from "A Wrinkle in Time" to "Speak".

I teach remedial reading to seventh grade students in an urban community. Along with the typical challenges that effect most teenagers, my students are struggling, reluctant readers.

As a seventh grade teacher, teaching students that read 3 years below their grade level, I have found that the biggest barrier my students and my school face is our book choice. It is unfortunate that my students already dislike reading, and now all I have to offer them is a boring book that they can't even read. Our school does not have the funds to purchase high-low books for my students, and the students are suffering from it.

With six copies of the 10 books I have chosen, I plan to put reading for enjoyment back into my students lives. The titles I have chosen such as "Speak" and "A Wrinkle in Time " which are high interest books; guaranteed to get even the most reluctant reader, reading.

My students need you to help ensure that No Reader is Left Behind. With your help we can make one of the most dynamic differences in my students lives.
