Being a Title 1 school, there are strict budget guidelines as to the allotment of funds for ancillary instructional materials such as those required to create art projects.
Our curriculum recommends providing new and different materials throughout the year. With budgets cuts due largely to the economy, providing these materials will be impossible. I want my children to experience the rich cultural foundations that this country has to offer.
Paste Paper is an old art dating from the early days of bookmaking and beyond. Originally it required cooking stinky glues and using a media with a very short shelf life and uncertain results.
New media make this process simple and successful for all ages. Essentially, Paste Paper is sophisticated finger painting with simple tools for beautiful results. Patterns can be drawn from as far back as prehistory. This is an excellent lesson to teach patterns, color relationships, repetition, proportions and craftsmanship.
Your donation would provide my children with the needed materials to expand their educational experience and artistic ability. Having this opportunity could greatly influence the future of our country’s next leaders.
My art students need 10 resources, including books, acrylic Paints, paper, paint brushes, and paint manipulation tools. HIDEMr. T.'s Classroom:
