"I teach a third grade special education focus. I have students with Learning Disabilities, two with Autism and one with Emotional Behavior Disorder. We work hard everyday to become the best learners.

Over half of the children in our elementary school are considered at risk of educational failure, and at least three-fourths of our community hovers near the poverty line.

I would like my class to have program called a Ticket to Read. Ticket to Read, is a fun and motivating online reading program, helps students become active readers. The program is designed for grades K–6, and students work independently on leveled fluency and reading skills. Ticket to Read facilitates independent practice from school, home, or any computer that has an internet connection. The online program teaches and builds reading skills at the individual level with adaptive instruction in:Phonics Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension

You will create lifelong learners! By making learning fun and allowing children to explore concepts through reading and technology. The students already love going on the Ticket to Read website. However, we can not access the full program.

Donors like you will make it possible for my students to have a Ticket to Read.

My students need one online program for special education team.

Dear carol, Bryan, Darcy, Stephanie, Edward, Shelley, Heather, Antonio, Alexis and Anonymous Donor,

I can't send you enough thank-yous for you kind and generous donation. "Ticket to read" has been a magnificent supplemental reading program! We learned so much already, after working for a few weeks. My students were fascinated with the electronic reading program. They love creating their club houses from the points they earned. The students enjoy listen to the read out loud portion. This helps them with words that they do not understand or know. With some of the supplemental resources that "Ticket to read" offers, we are able to learn some way to increase reading comprehension and fluency. Their curiosity has truly been stimulated. They just can't get enough. Non –fiction literature has begun to open their eyes to reading! The beautiful thing is that they don't even realize how much they are learning! Your gift has been like a farmer as they sprout to create bountiful harvest. When children are hooked on reading, they truly are making gains beyond measure!

Thank You! We truly do value your generosity

With gratitude,
Ms. H.

On behalf of my students and I here at Mary M. Bethune, we thank you for your generous contribution of supplies to our classroom. Your generosity will make an immediate difference in the live of my exceptional educating students. We can't wait to start the school year off with this reading program.
